Apparently listening to Pendulum while writing this post, that’s how it is. Pendulum, a drum’n’bass band from Perth, and with that being said, my favorite band of all time, recently split up. You know, after your favorite band breaks up, you wonder what are you going to do with your life. That’s what I am thinking right now too. Some time, after over 9000 replays of their songs on full volume until my ears turn to shreds, I’ll need some new tunes of theirs to listen.
Knowing you’re not going to get any is one of the worst feelings in the world.
And they weren’t just like any band, they were the pioneers of a whole genre of music. And after 10 years of rocking awesomeness, they part.
Rob and Gareth will be working on a new project, Knife Party, which is electro and dubstep related, even though I enjoy both genres, I don’t like the project that much… Not because their work is not good, but because it doesn’t feel like Pendulum.
Well, I hope whatever path Pendulum’s members choose, they’ll be OK.
Thank you for 10 years of the best music around.
Oh, and props to Verse and El Hornet for keeping the DJ sets still around! Those guys are the best.
